Baseball roundup: Aubrey cruises

FARMERSVILLE — Jumping out to a 7-0 lead helped Aubrey defeat Tom Bean 13-2 in five innings on Saturday at the Farmersville tournament.

Blake Stevens picked up the win for the Chaparrals. Kylan Doucet led Aubrey at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs, while Justin Sorenson was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and Cole Cannon went 3-for-4 with three runs scored.

In their second game on Saturday, the Chaps (4-2) fell 7-5 to Farmersville, which rallied with four runs in the sixth inning off Cannon, who took the loss.

Doucet went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Cannon was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Cody Hawthorne went 2-for-4.

 

James Taylor Tournament

Liberty Christian went on 0-2 on the final day of the James Taylor Tournament, losing 7-3 to Frisco Wakeland and 9-0 to Canyon Randall.

Wakeland broke away with two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings, while the Warriors (4-5) could only mister three hits against Randall.
