Volleyball roundup: Braswell continues to roll, sweeps Gunter

Braswell continued its strong start to the 2017 season on Tuesday.

The Lady Bengals improved to 12-5 with a win in straight sets against Gunter, 25-15, 25-18, 25-17. Seven aces and a hit percentage just above .300 powered Braswell to victory.

Taylor Curtis led the way with nine kills, while Kinley Coward added seven of her own. 

Liberty Christian rolls

Liberty Christian rolled  with an easy win against Grapevine Faith in straight sets. 

The first set was close at 25-21, but Grapevine Faith could not perform in the final two sets, falling 25-6 and 25-14. Kaleigh and Kiley Couch both had 10 kills, while Kiley added 11 digs. 

Taylor Scalzi got the offense going with 27 assists. 

Calvary sweeps Waxahachie Prep

Calvary improved to 4-10 on the season with a win in straight sets against Waxahachie Prep 25-8, 25-16, 25-10. 

Claire Wickers led with seven kills, and Zoe Gattis added 16 assists. Wickers also stood out on defense with a team-leading nine digs.
