WACO — North Texas finished sixth in the 10-kilometer men’s race and ninth in the women’s 6K at the NCAA South Central regional meet Friday. Senior Jo Adams had the highest finish for the Mean Green, crossing the finish line 17th in 21:03.7.
Adams repeated as all-region with her top-20 finish, and Charlotte Wilson had a strong race finishing 26th.
“The men and women had a solid day,” UNT coach Stefanie Slekis said. “Having both teams finish where they were ranked by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll was a great achievement for our team.”
The Mean Green men moved up seven spots collectively and the women eight from their previous run at the regional meet.
“I’m very proud of how the team took on the new training this fall and stepped up to compete at every race throughout the season,” Slekis said. “This cross country season is just the start of what the Mean Green can accomplish.”
