Golf: UNT sits fourth after second round

North Texas fell to fourth place after Tuesday’s second round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

The Mean Green fired a 20-over 308 to fall one spot in the standings after finishing the first day in third. UNT’s two-day total is 28-over 604.

Denver leads the tournament by 17 shots over Middle Tennessee. Denver is at 5-over 581. Florida International is 22 shots back in third.

Senior Jacey Chun leads the Mean Green after shooting a 1-over 73. Chun is tied for fifth at 2-over 146 heading into today’s final round, trailing leader Katie Mundy by five shots.

Two more North Texas players sit in the top 20 with Kelsey Kipp (77) and Addison Long (78) at 16th and 17th, respectfully.
