MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. — North Texas finished its season by shooting a 6-over-par 294 on Wednesday in the final round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament. The team ended up in fourth place at 34 over, only three shots behind third-place Florida International.
UNT senior Jacey Chun capped her standout career with a sixth-place finish. Chun had a 1-over 73 with three birdies. A birdie on No. 18 was her final shot for UNT, and she was named all-conference.
UNT seniors Addison Long and Kelsey Kipp and freshman McKenzie Ralston tied for 24th at 15 over. Kipp managed to sink one birdie in her 7-over round while Long had three birdies and was 5 over for the day.
“We played some golf this week and I am very proud of this team,” coach Jeff Mitchell said. “We have had tremendous contributions from Addison Long, Kelsey Kipp and Jacey Chun. They will really be missed.”
Ralston was 1 under Wednesday with four birdies. Chaslyn Chrismer had a birdie and was 1 over. She finished the tournament in 33rd.
Denver won the tournament at 8 over, and second-place Middle Tennessee was 25 over.
