ROCKWALL — North Texas and Western Kentucky traded the top spot in the overall standings after each event on the third day of the Sun Belt meet, with the Mean Green holding a slight advantage Friday at the Rockwall Aquatic Center.
The Mean Green heads into the final day with a score of 600, while the Lady Toppers are in second with 586. Florida International is third with 489, and Florida Atlantic and Arkansas-Little Rock follow with 339 and 186, respectively.
Winning the 100 breaststroke for the second consecutive year, UNT’s Krista Rossum set a meet record with a 1:01.41.
In the 1-meter dive, WKU’s Caitlin Dean recorded a 266.60 to edge UNT’s Catherine Johnson (266.40) for the silver medal. UNT’s Rebecca Taylor finished fourth for the second consecutive year.
UNT’s Mona Groteguth (54.67) was third in the 100 backstroke. Mona Groteguth won the 100 butterfly in a photo finish with a 54.75. In the 200 freestyle, Catia Weickgenant was second in 1:48.85.
