Track & field: Adams breaks UNT record in 1,500

WALNUT, Calif. — The North Texas distance runners wrapped up competition at the 55th annual Mt. SAC Relays on Thursday night with one school record and multiple personal bests.

Senior Jo Adams broke her school record in the 1,500 meters, crossing the line second in 4:16.20. In the men’s 1,500, Matt Russ finished 33rd in a personal-best 3:49.71, followed by Troy Taylor in 53rd in a personal-best 3:51.33.

Charlotte Wilson grabbed second place in the women’s 3,000 steeplechase, shaving off 30 seconds for a personal-best 10:36.49. Christina Taylor finished eighth in 10:51.85. James Coleman finished 20th in the men’s 3,000 steeplechase, cutting his personal best to 9:31.68.

The distance runners now travel to Norwalk, Calif., for the Long Beach State Invitational.
