North Texas senior Jo Adams finished 10th in her heat and 16th overall in the 1,500-meter run and failed to qualify for the finals at the NCAA meet Thursday night at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Adams posted a time of 4:20.52 in the first of two heats, well off the school-record 4:15.33 she ran in the preliminary round in Austin.
Natalja Piliusina of Oklahoma State won the first heat in 4:14.39, which was the top qualifying time. Rebecca Tracy of Notre Dame was the 12th and final qualifier for the finals in a time of 4:17.70.
Adams finished the season with UNT’s indoor mile and 3,000 records as well as the outdoor 1,500 record. Adams also set the 5-kilometer school record during the fall cross country season.
