The Pioneers fell behind 9-3 in the first set but rallied to tie the score at 17. TWU capped the set with a 4-2 run. In the second set, the Pioneers trailed 23-22 but scored four of the final five points.

The Pioneers jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the fourth set and never looked back.

“Our goal is to have three players in double digits in kills in every game, but today we had four and I am very happy,” TWU coach Shelly Barberee said. “Josie had a good weekend along with Chloe’ and Viktorija. Torie got the opportunity today and played well on defense.”

The Pioneers next visit Texas A&M-Commerce at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
