SAN ANGELO — The TWU soccer team went on the road Friday to open the second half of the Lone Star Conference schedule and fell to Angelo State 1-0.
The Pioneers are now 5-5-2 on the season and 4-3-1 in conference play.
“We played hard and had some chance in front of the net but their goalie [Danielle Edwards] made some good saves,” TWU head coach Fleur Benatar said.“We had four or five good opportunities but could not put them away.”
The game’s only goal came halfway through the first half for the Rambelles.
ASU’s Caitlyn Conaway scored her first goal of the season in the 20th minute on an assist by Jordan Benfield.
The Pioneers next head to San Antonio on Sunday to face Incarnate Word. Game time is 2 p.m.
