TWU beat Incarnate Word 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16 at Kitty Magee Arena to improve to 14-5 overall and 8-3 in Lone Star Conference play.
The Pioneers were led by Viktorija Jablonska, who posted her fourth triple-double (18 kills, 12 assists, 13 digs) of the season, and got double-doubles from Kayla Rivero (31 assists, 15 digs) and Torie Talkington (11 kills, 14 digs). Marcela Alves posted a season-high 21 kills.
“With several players out tonight we certainly had some kids step up,” TWU head coach Shelly Barberee said. “Marcela was one of those with just three errors.”
The Pioneers will play host to Texas A&M-Kingsville at 2 p.m. today. The first 150 fans will receive free “Maroon Madness” T-shirts.
