Volleyball: TWU falls to No. 11 West Texas A&M

Jablonska had just three errors. Marcela Alves also reached double digits in kills with 12. Kayla Rivero and Hannah Marshall ran TWU’s 6-2 offense and recorded 27 and 18 assists, respectively.

The Pioneers (15-6, 9-4 Lone Star) exploded with a .423 hitting percentage to win the second set. TWU had just one error in the seven-point win.

TWU struggled in the third set with 11 errors. West Texas A&M hit .406 and had just two errors to capture the fourth set and the match.

“We fought hard and I am proud of this team,” TWU coach Shelly Barberee said. “We just had one bad set. Viktorija, Chloe’ and Marcela played a great game along with Hayley [Summers]. We don’t talk about Kayla much, but she has been consistent all season and once again played a good game.”

The Pioneers will play their final road game of the regular season when they travel to Portales, N.M., to face Eastern New Mexico at 1 p.m. today.
