TWU’s Viktorija Jablonska recorded her second consecutive triple-double Saturday as the Pioneers downed visiting Cameron 25-18, 27-25, 25-18.
Jablonska recorded a team-high 15 kills and 25 assists to go along with 12 digs for her sixth triple-double of the season. Torie Talkington and Josie Santos added 10 kills apiece, and Hayley Summers and Chloe’ Tate each posted seven kills.
“We played with emotion and our fans really got into the game,” TWU head coach Shelly Barberee said. “We played well. Viktorija once again was impressive with her attacks and sets. Hayley and Josie both played a good game off the bench.”
The Pioneers used an 8-1 run to capture the first set. Jablonska had six kills and Talkington added four.
In the second set, neither team led by more than three points until Cameron took a 22-18 lead. TWU rallied to tie the set at 23 on three consecutive kills by Jablonska. With the score tied at 25, a service error by the Aggies and an ace by Kayla Rivero gave the Pioneers the win.
In the third set, the Pioneers fell behind 11-6 but regrouped to post a .375 hitting percentage in the seven-point win. Santos had six kills while Jablonska and Talkington each added five.
The Pioneers (18-6, 12-4 Lone Star) will play host to Texas A&M-Commerce at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
