Softball: TWU sweeps Oklahoma Christian

Junior Katie Hines went 4 for 6 on the day, driving in five runs, and picked up a win in relief to help lead fourteenth-ranked TWU to a doubleheader sweep of Oklahoma Christian on Tuesday at Pioneer Field.

The Pioneers (15-5) rallied from a 7-1 deficit in the first game to win 15-7 in six innings, before cruising to a 9-1 six-inning win in the nightcap.

Junior Amanda Ruiz was 4 for 8 with six runs scored, while senior Jordan Readicker went 4 for 5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Senior Larisa Garcia started the second game in the circle and tossed a complete game for her fourth win of the season.

The Pioneers will return to action when they play host St. Mary’s at 5 p.m. Thursday.
