TWU senior gymnast Bethany Larimer was named Midwest Independent Conference Specialist of the Week for the week of Feb. 18-24. She earned the weekly honor for the third time this season.
Larimer tied her career-high with a 9.900 on vault to capture the event title Sunday at the home quad meet against Air Force, Centenary and Illinois-Chicago. It was her second 9.900 of the season and has a 9.836 season average in the event. Larimer also scored a season-high 9.800 on bars and 9.625 on beam.
The Pioneers will have their final home meet of the season at 7 p.m. Friday, when they take on top-ranked Oklahoma in a dual meet in Kitty Magee Arena. The first 250 fans will receive a “TWU Gymnastics” seat cushion. Immediately following the meet, TWU’s two departing seniors — Kristin Edwards and Sara Grunert — will be honored with a brief Senior Night ceremony.
