Gymnastics: TWU wins dual meet at Lindenwood

The TWU Pioneers captured all four individual titles in a dual meet victory over host Lindenwood on Sunday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo.

TWU posted a 192.700, while the Lady Lions finished with 191.950.

The Pioneers opened the meet on bars and scored just 47.400. Junior Courtney Cochefski won the event title with a 9.775, while senior Brittainy Johnson scored a 9.700. Johnson returned to the lineup after missing all last season and the first nine meets of the season due to an injury.

TWU posted a 48.425 on vault in its second rotation led by senior Bethany Larimer, who tied for first with a 9.800.

The Pioneers counted a fall on floor in the third rotation for a team score of 48.100. Four gymnasts scored a 9.700 or higher led by Edwards with a 9.825.

In the final rotation on beam, TWU captured the top-three spots and scored a 48.825. Jones won the event with a 9.875.

The Pioneers will return to action in two weeks when they compete in the 2013 MIC Championships on March 23 in Shreveport, La.
