TWU junior Brandie Lander has been named Lone Star Conference pitcher of the week for April 16-22. She earned the honor for the first time in her career.

Lander helped the Pioneers to a 4-1 record on the road last week, including a three-game sweep at Incarnate Word. She picked up two of the four wins and posted a team-best 1.91 ERA.

Lander recorded a nine-inning, complete-game victory at Tarleton State on April 16 and tossed five shutout innings at Incarnate Word on Saturday. She came on in relief in the series finale and struck out the final two batters to seal the win.

She is the team leader with a 1.99 ERA, 18 wins and 113 strikeouts.
