TWU assistant coach Josh Nilson has resigned after two seasons with the Pioneers to accept the same position at Utah State.

Nilson, a Logan, Utah, native, graduated from Utah State. He was a student assistant for the Aggies for three years and then after graduation became a full-time assistant.

“I am thankful for the opportunity TWU and head coach Lisa Bowerman offered me two years ago,” Nilson said. “Although we are sad to leave, we are excited to be heading back to our home town to be a part of rebuilding Utah State gymnastics.”

Nilson was named the 2012 USA Gymnastics and Midwest Independent Conference assistant coach of the year after coaching the Pioneers’ uneven bars team to a 48.440 season average. Nilson coached Courtney Cochefski to the 2012 USAG collegiate national title on bars.
