TWU junior Kayla Rivero has been named the Lone Star Conference setter of the week for Sept. 3-9. She earned the honor for the second time in her career.
Rivero helped her team to 3-1 record at the Hilltopper/Rattler Classic. She led the Pioneers with 90 assists in a 6-2 offense and recorded two double-doubles. Rivero posted 28 assists and 12 digs in an upset win over #23 Adams State and then added 21 assists and 14 digs against St. Edward’s. She also had 32 assists against St. Mary’s.
The Pioneers will travel to Golden, Colo., to play in the Oredigger Classic on Friday and Saturday. TWU will play Grand Valley State and host Colorado School of Mines on Friday, then face Western Oregon and Fort Lewis on Saturday.
