TWU pulled off an impressive 193.950-193.425 win over No. 25 Rutgers in a dual meet Saturday night at Kitty Magee Arena.

The Pioneers posted season highs in two events and captured the individual titles in all four events.

In the first rotation, TWU posted a 48.425 on vault with three gymnasts posting 9.700 or better. Senior Bethany Larimer won the title with a 9.850, while Amy Winczura scored a 9.775 and Brittany Montalbano finished with 9.700.

The Pioneers counted a fall on uneven bars but still managed to score a 48.350. Senior Brittainy Johnson captured the title with 9.875, while Courtney Cochefski finished with 9.825. Larimer and Katie Simpson posted 9.750 and 9.725, respectively.

TWU’s balance beam lineup scored a season high and dominated in the third rotation with four scores over 9.750. Junior Stephanie Repp placed first with a 9.825, while Johnson posted a 9.800. Larimer and Carley Carter both finished with 9.775.

The Pioneers closed out the meet with a season-high 48.375 on floor exercise. Senior Margaret Mayfield captured the title with a 9.850, while Madison Kremer scored a 9.775.

“I am very excited about the win over a top-25 team,” TWU coach Lisa Bowerman said. “I am proud of the girls. It wasn’t a perfect meet, but I saw the courage to give their all and fight for everything. Beam is our strongest event this year with lot of depth, and I am very pleased with the performances today. We competed against a great team, and to win the individual titles on all four events says a lot about our potential.”

The Pioneers will return to action at 2 p.m. next Sunday when they play host to Centenary and Lindenwood in a triangular meet.
