Softball roundup: Ryan wins four

Ryan had a big day Saturday in the Tina Minke Memorial Tournament, winning four straight games after losing their first game of the day to Trophy Club Nelson 11-3.

Carol Rabbe surrendered 11 runs on 14 hits and the Lady Raiders had just seven hits.

Ryan followed the loss with a 10-4 win in five innings over Frisco as Danielle Deeds picked up her first of the season, allowing four runs and seven hits.

The Lady Raiders then exploded for five runs in the second inning of an 8-5 win over Canyon Randall. Erika Williamson and Kristen Cope each had two hits apiece for the Lady Raiders. Carol Rabbe picked up her second win of the season.

Rabbe then backed that up with an 8-1 win over Denton to earn her third win of the season after she allowed just five hits. Megan Durante led the Lady Raiders with two RBIs.

Ryan (6-7) finished off the tournament in style with a 12-0, three-inning shutout over Saginaw Boswell. The Lady Raiders came out of the gates with six runs in the first inning, and Deeds picked up the win, while also racking up three RBIs on three hits.


Pottsboro tournament

Aubrey got off to a strong start in its first game Saturday, erupting for 12 total runs in the first three innings before holding holding off Pottsboro 13-11.

Erin Dalasantos was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for the Lady Chaps, while Bridget Parker was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Parker also picked up the win for the Lady Chaps on the mound, holding Pottsboro to four hits.

In its second game, Aubrey (3-8) held an 8-6 lead heading into the final inning, but Pilot Point’s JV team came up with three runs in the seventh to steal a 9-8 victory.
