Denton’s Kelly Kraft, the reigning U.S. Amateur golf champion, has been reaping benefits ever since he won that title last August and one of the biggest prizes was an invitation to play in the Masters.
Kraft will be one of 96 golfers who will tee off at the Augusta National Golf Club this morning when the 2012 Masters gets underway.
Accompanying Kraft around the famed Augusta National layout will be longtime friend and caddie, Boston Brittain.
Kraft, a 2007 graduate of Ryan High School, is one of six amateurs in the field. He is scheduled to tee off at 9:24 a.m. in a threesome that includes Charl Schwartzel of South Africa and Keegan Bradley.
