Swimming: Denton dominates six-way meet

Elise Page, DJ Lang and Anthony Milbitz led Denton as it won 11 of 24 events Tuesday in a meet against Trophy Club Nelson, Justin Northwest, Birdville, Ryan and Guyer.

The trio each won four events, and Nelson was Denton’s closest competitor with eight victories.

Lang joined Milbitz, Cody Knapp and Kevin Ye to win the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.09, just ahead of Nelson at 1:50.19. The same foursome captured the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.57); Nelson was second at 1:36.24. Lang won the 50 freestyle in 22.70 and the 100 butterfly in 56.70. Milbitz won the 100 freestyle (50.46) and the 100 backstroke (59.77).

Denton’s Andy Ye won the 200 individual medley in 2:13.15, just ahead of Ryan’s Austin Pyrch at 2:15.15. Guyer’s Tristen Parish won the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.45, just ahead of Knapp (1:05.06).

Page joined Bri Broussard, Rachael Crews and Kayla McGill to win the girls 200 medley relay with a time of 2:02.57. That foursome won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:49.29. Page (26.23) edged Guyer’s Christina Coon (26.58) to win the 50 freestyle. In the 100 freestyle, winner Page (56.86) nipped Coon (57.68).

Guyer’s Blythe Fentress won the girls 1-meter diving with a score of 165.15, and Ryan’s Mikey Winfrey took the boys competition with a 205.65.
