CARROLLTON — Denton improved to 3-5 after defeating Irving McArthur 9-2 in the Carrollton Diamond Classic on Friday night.

Malik Minter led the Broncos from the mound, allowing two runs on five hits.

Mark Johnson had a triple for Denton.

Arlington Grace Prep 9, Liberty Christian 6

ARGYLE — Despite getting doubles from Wade Oliver and Luke Chavez, Liberty Christian fell to Arlington Grace Prep.

Ethan Luna allowed nine runs on 16 hits in the loss.

Josh Brudi had a home run for Grace.


Argyle 10, Waco 0

WACO — Seth Jones pitched a shutout for Argyle in the Robinson tournament.

Jones allowed just three hits and had a double at the playte. Dillon Harp had a home run for the Eagles.


Krum 9, Millsap 4

MILLSAP — Krum earned its third win of the JC Henderson Classic.

Trey Johnson recorded the win for the Bobcats, allowing four runs and two hits.

Josh Reeves had a triple and two RBIs for Krum. Ty Damron had a triple and three RBIs.


Pilot Point/Gunter tournament

GUNTER — Sanger earned two victories on the second day of the Pilot Point/Gunter tournament, defeating Pilot Point 6-2 with Ted Wisdom (1-1) taking the win and then topping the Prosper JV.



McKinney Invitational

MCKINNEY — Carol Raabe led the Ryan Lady Raiders in the circle and at the plate in an 8-5 victory over Allen — their fourth win of the McKinney Invitational.

Raabe allowed five runs on 11 hits. At the plate, she had a double and a home run.

Ryan scored all eight runs in the first and second innings. Allen tried to rally in the seventh with two runs but fell short.

The Lady Raiders started off their second day at the tourney with a win, defeating Lucas Lovejoy 9-4.

Raabe took the win, allowing four runs on eight hits.

Raabe and Kaylay Cunningham each had a double. Carley Rains had a home run.

Aubrey tournament

AUBREY — The Aubrey Lady Chaps (15-1-1) won their fourth game of their home tournament, defeating Gunter 2-1.

Emily Torres recorded the win in the circle, allowing nine hits and one run.

Torres also had success at the plate, driving in Melanie Funk for game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Nikki Brogdon had a double for Aubrey.

Kayle Reding (14-1-1) pitched Aubrey to a 10-0 win over Lindsay.

Emily Torres, Nikki Brogdon and Reding each had a double. Torres had four RBIs.


Prosper tournament

PROSPER — Pilot Point earned its fourth win of the Prosper tournament with a 6-3 decision over Prosper.

Skylar Cagle recorded the win for the Lady Cats, fanning seven and allowing three runs.

Hydeia Chancellor had two RBIs for Pilot Point.

Cagle also led the Lady Cats to a 9-1 victory over Royse City.

Cagle struck out seven and allowed one run on three hits. Cagle went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and two RBIs.

Haley Evans went 4-for-4 with three RBIs for Pilot Point.
