Volleyball roundup: Guyer sweeps Denton

Guyer swept Denton 25-23, 25-22, 25-21 on Friday to improve to 7-0 in District 5-4A play.

Leading the Lady Wildcats (24-8) were Emily Hill with 13 kills and six digs, Madison Walford with two kills and 24 assists and McKenzie Christopher with 10 digs.

For Denton (12-14, 3-4 district), Jade Akins had 13 kills with 11 digs and Kenzie Dozier had 14 kills with nine digs. Hannah Altman tallied 14 digs and 19 assists, Emily Curtis had 17 digs and Emily Acker finished with 16 assists.

On Tuesday, Guyer plays host to Wichita Falls and Denton travels to face Wichita Falls Rider. Both matches start at 6 p.m.

Argyle d. Lone Star

FRISCO — The Lady Eagles topped Frisco Lone Star 25-17, 25-16, 25-16 behind a 13-kill performance from Katy Keenan.

Argyle (23-9, 2-0 in District 10-3A) also got 16 assists each from Alexa Bass and Strealy Sizelove each, and 10 digs from Laine Lowry.

The Lady Eagles travel to Carrollton Ranchview for a 6:30 p.m. match Tuesday.

Pilot Point d. Leonard

The Lady Cats swept Leonard 25-22, 25-22, 25-16 and moved to 4-2 in District 12-2A.

Pilot Point (13-12) plays at Van Alstyne at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Celina d. Aubrey

Celina swept Aubrey 25-21, 25-19, 25-20 to drop the Lady Chaps to 0-3 in District 10-3A.

Paige Bisi led Aubrey (12-21) with 10 kills, Hannah Schmitz had a team-high two blocks and Micayla Porter added 11 assists.

Aubrey plays at Princeton at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Calvary d. Kennedale Fellowship

ARLINGTON — Calvary improved to 4-0 in TAPPS 2A District 1 with a 25-12, 25-14, 25-13 sweep of Kennedale Fellowship.

Madeline Mayer had 19 kills to lead the Lady Lions. Kelly Crow had 17 digs and Anna Hollingshead added seven kills and 15 digs.

Calvary will play at Sherman Texoma Christian at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Plano Prestonwood d. Liberty Christian

PLANO — Liberty Christian was swept by Plano Prestonwood Christian Academy on Thursday, 26-24, 26-24, 25-15.

Olivia Asprey had nine kills, 14 digs and 18 assists for the Lady Warriors. Shelby Westbrook tallied 18 digs.

Liberty Christian will continue TAPPS 5A District 1 action as it plays host to Dallas Ursuline Academy at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
