Volleyball roundup: Lady Broncos post sweep of Coyotes

Denton claimed a sweep of Wichita Falls, winning 25-17, 25-17, 25-18 on Friday.

Jade Akins led the way with 17 kills for the Lady Broncos while Kenzie Dozier had 11. Hannah Altman finished with four aces and 23 assists, and Emily Curtis had 30 digs.

Denton will play host to Trophy Club Nelson at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Argyle d. Aubrey

AUBREY — Argyle swept Aubrey 25-7, 25-11, 25-9 to improve to 4-0 in District 10-3A.

For the Lady Eagles, Eighmy Dobbins had 16 kills, while Strealy Sizelove had 22 assists and Alexa Bass added 19. Laine Lowry led the team with 22 digs.

Hannah Schmitz had four blocks for Aubrey, while Micayla Porter added four assists.

The Lady Chaps will play host to Carrollton Ranchview at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Argyle plays at Celina at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Flower Mound d. Ryan

The Lady Raiders fell to Flower Mound 25-7, 25-12, 25-22.

Faith Tidman led Ryan (7-28, 0-5 in 5-4A) with eight kills. Shanna Daniels had 13 assists and Sydney Lundgren had nine digs.

Ryan will play at Flower Mound Marcus at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Calvary d. Abilene Christian

The Calvary Lady Lions remained unbeated in TAPPS 2A, District 1 action with a 25-2, 25-13, 25-12 win over Abilene Christian on Thursday.

Calvary (6-0) will play at Watauga Harvest Christian at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Melissa d. Pilot Point

PILOT POINT — The Pilot Point Lady Cats fell to Melissa in four sets, 25-22, 26-24, 23-25, 25-18.

Pilot Point (15-12) plays at Farmersville at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Liberty Christian d. Dallas Bishop Dunne

DALLAS — Liberty Christian swept Dallas Bishop Dunne 25-12, 25-8, 25-7 on Thursday, improving to 4-6 in TAPPS 5A District 1.

Ali Eager led the Lady Warriors (19-11) with seven kills and four aces, while Maddie Grubbs and Hannah Elsey each added seven kills.

Paige Jeary had 18 assists and five aces for Liberty, Olivia Asprey totaled 13 assists and five aces, and Shelby Westbrook finished with 16 digs.

Liberty Christian will play host to Plano John Paul II at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
