Decatur at Krum

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Bobcat Stadium

Records: Decatur (4-3, 0-1), Krum (3-4, 1-0)

What’s on the line: Krum is coming off a win against winless Bridgeport and probably ensured itself one of the four playoff berths given to the five-team district. The Bobcats could align themeslves for a better playoff seeding with a win over Decatur, which lost to Gainesville last week. Krum running back Brennan Ellis rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown in last week’s win over the Bulls.

Sanger at Gainesville

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Leopard Stadium

Records: Sanger (4-2, 0-0), Gainesville (6-0, 1-0)

What’s on the line: Based on the way these teams have been playing, this game could decide the District 9-3A title. Gainesville is undefeated, while Sanger has won four straight contests after dropping its first two. The game will come down to the team’s running backs. Sanger is led by Tre’von Jackson who’s rushed for 949 yards and 17 touchdowns. Gainesville has Adam Berryman, who’s rushed for 167 yards per game and 14 total touchdowns.

Paradise at Pilot Point

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Massey Stadium

Records: Paradise (1-5, 1-1), Pilot Point (5-2, 3-0)

What’s on the line: After getting blown out by Whitesboro 56-0, Paradise got its first win of the season last week with a 13-10 decision against Bowie. The Panthers will attempt to derail the District 5-2A Division I-leading Pilot Point Bearcats, whose 20-12 win over Ponder last Friday wasn’t the easiest of victories. The Bearcats had just a 7-0 lead at halftime, but junior QB Travis Garrett put the team on his shoulders with 137 yards rushing and three TDs.

Ponder at Callisburg

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Wildcat Stadium

Records: Ponder (2-5, 0-3), Callisburg (4-2, 0-2)

What’s on the line: These teams are still searching for their first District 5-2A Division I victory. The Ponder Lions fell to Pilot Point 20-12 last Friday at home, and the Callisburg Wildcats fell 41-27 on the road to Boyd. The Lions, who surrendered 262 yards on the ground to Pilot Point, will need to have their rushing defense in better form when they face Callisburg QB Rheyce Childress, who ran for 181 yards in the Wildcats’ loss.

Liberty Christian at Plano John Paul II

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: John Paul II Athletic Complex

Records: Liberty Christian (4-2, 1-1), Plano John Paul II (0-6, 0-3)

What’s on the line: The Liberty Warriors need a resounding victory over a winless Cardinals team that allowed 73 points to Plano Prestonwood last week. A big win for the Warriors would give them confidence entering a two-game stretch during which they’ll face two of the top teams in TAPPS I-1 — Addison Trinity Christian and Fort Worth Nolan.

Plano John Paul II player to watch: QB Zach Norris
