Softball: Lady Falcons start 3-0

ARGYLE — Lake Dallas kicked off its season by winning three games on the first day of the Argyle/Liberty Christian tournament on Thursday.

The Lady Falcons defeated Callisburg (7-1), Ponder (10-2) and Decatur (10-1), each at Liberty, and will continue play in the tournament Saturday.

Also playing at Liberty, Sanger topped Sadler S&S Consolidated 6-2 before losing to Burleson Centennial 13-0. Ponder followed up its loss to Lake Dallas with a 17-1 win over the host Warriors.

Argyle, playing on its own field, beat Plano Prestonwood 18-1. The Eagles will play Centennial at 11 a.m. today, immediately followed by a game against Decatur.

As for games at Liberty, the Warriors will face S&S Consolidated at 11 a.m. and Sanger at 5 p.m. The Indians will play Ponder at 3 p.m., and the Lions will open the day against Sunnyvale at 11 a.m.
