Ryan junior Matthew Storie lost 6-0, 6-0 Monday to No. 1 seed Rajiv Saralaya from Amarillo in the second round of the regional tennis tournament at Texas Tech in Lubbock.

Storie originally was an alternate for regionals after losing to Denton's Noah Villarreal in the semifinals of the District 5-5A meet. He advanced when Villarreal was pulled from the tournament for disciplinary reasons.

Storie opened Monday with a 6-2, 6-0 win against Juan Blanco from Fort Worth South Hills. Storie was the first male tennis player from Ryan to qualify for regionals under head coach Jason Blazek, who has been the Raiders' coach since 2005.
