Volleyball roundup: Aubrey, Liberty Christian, Guyer all tally two wins Friday

Aubrey continued play in the Nike ASC Tournament on Friday, picking up its first two wins of the season before losing its final match of the day. The Lady Chaps improved to 2-4 on the young season. 

Aubrey beat Howe  25-11, 25-12 before downing Eastern Hills 25-10, 25-9. Kaia Saylor had another big day on  offense with 25 kills. 

Laney Roos picked up the defense, leading Aubrey in digs. Parish Episcopal beat the Lady Chaps 25-21, 25-7 to close the day. Aubrey is back in action at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ryan High School. 

Liberty Christian wins pair 

 Liberty Christian won two of its three matches Friday in the Nike Classic Tournament. The Lady Warriors defeated Bowie (2-1) and Anna (2-0) before falling to Callisburg (0-2). 

Tournament play will continue Saturday, and Liberty looks to maintain its hot start to the 2017 season.

Guyer takes two of three

Guyer won two matches in two sets on Friday before falling to Mansfield Lake Ridge in three sets, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23.

Brooke Slusser stood out for the Lady Wildcats with 41 assists and 21 digs, providing defense and offense. Kate Cowan provided 28 digs, and Rachel Tullos added 16 kills for Guyer. 

Guyer beat Fossil Ridge 25-14, 25-10 before defeating Chapin 25-17, 25-19.
