Volleyball roundup: Denison takes down in Aubrey in three sets

DENISON — The Aubrey Lady Chaps failed to do much Tuesday night as they fell to Denison 25-18, 26-24, 25-21. 

Katherine Knight was the battery for the Aubrey offense with 24 assists. On the defensive side, Laney Roos racked up 16 digs.

Boyd d. Ponder

PONDER — Despite winning the opening set, Ponder fell to the Lady Yellowjackets of Boyd in 19-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-12.
Averee Tipton put up a hard fight for the Lady Lions with her team-leading 27 assists. 
Ponder will begin district play at Pilot Point on Friday. 

Bridgeport d. Pilot Point

BRIDGEPORT — Pilot Point continued to struggle and fell to Bridgeport 25-12, 28-30, 25-15, 25-13.

Shelby Malone had a big offensive performance for the Lady Bearcats, as she had 10 digs and eight kills. 

Pilot Point (4-19) will host Ponder on Friday.

Sanger d. Burleson

SANGER — The Sanger Lady Indians made fast work of Burleson as they came out on top 25-18, 25-19, 25-16.

Gabbi Roelofs and Sydney Price were dominant together on the front line for Sanger, as Roelofs had 12 kills and three blocks and Price had 10 kills and five blocks.

Sanger will travel to Aubrey on Friday.

Liberty Christian d. Dallas Bishop Dunne

ARGYLE — Liberty Christian swept Dallas Bishop Dunne 25-14, 25-8, 25-13.

Offense was spread throughout the team, but Kaleigh Couch led Liberty with 10 kills and four aces.

The Lady Warriors will head to Austin Brentwood Christian on Friday night.
