Football: Game Changers

Below are the Denton Record-Chronicle High School Football Game Changers for Week 2:

Emani Bailey, RB, Ryan 
Bailey, a sophomore, carried the ball 20 times for 197 yards and three touchdowns, opening the door for a balanced offensive attack in Ryan's 44-3 win over Mesquite Poteet on Friday. Bailey scored on runs of 36, 26 and 7 yards.

Ryan Depperschmidt, QB, Lake Dallas
Depperschmidt had a big night while guiding Lake Dallas to a late win on Friday. Depperschmidt completed 17 of his 29 passes for 186 yards while also running for 105 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries.

Gabriel Douglas, WR, Ryan
Douglas, a Texas Tech commit, caught 11 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Douglas was also active in the return game as he broke loose for a 63-yard kickoff return to set up his final score on the next play. 

Kason Howell, DB, Liberty Christian
Howell was all over the field for Liberty Christian in its wild 10-9 win over Celina. Howell, who is committed to play baseball at Auburn, finished with 17 tackles, 1 forced fumble, two pass breakups and one critical interception. He also had a rushing touchdown and was big in the return game.

Anthony Tony-Itoyah, DB, Denton
With the game on the line, Tony-Itoyah came up with a big interception as time was running out to seal Denton's win over Sanger. The defensive back also added 13 tackles, a forced fumble and a pass breakup in lifting his team to a 2-0 start.

Marcial Apaez, K, Lake Dallas -- 32-yard game-winning field goal.
Jon Copeland, QB, Argyle -- 287 passing yards, 5 touchdowns.
Kosi Eldridge, LB, Ryan -- 10 tackles, 2 for loss, 1 sack, 1 pass breakup.
Jalen Harris, DB, Lake Dallas -- 15 tackles, 1  for loss, 1 fumble recovery.
Wes McCollum, WR, Argyle -- 8 catches, 163 yards, 2 touchdowns.
