Volleyball roundup: Guyer gets comeback win, prepares for Allen

PLANO — The Guyer Lady Wildcats bounced back after dropping the first set against Plano West on Tuesday and stole a close one on the road, 22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-22.

Brooke Slusser took charge of the Guyer offense with 22 assists, seven kills and one ace. Kate Cowan was key defensively with her team-high 26 digs. 

Guyer (29-10, 7-3 district) will continue its fight in District 6-6A when it hosts Allen at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Calvary d. Arlington Burton Adventist

The girls of Calvary controlled every bit of their match against Arlington Burton Adventist. The Lady Lions won 25-2, 25-10, 25-10.

The Lady Lions were led by Zoe Gattis' 27 assists and five aces as well as Claire Wickersham's 14 kills. 

Calvary is 3-4 in TAPPS District 2-3A and will only have one day off before traveling to take on Fort Worth Calvary at 7 p.m. Thursday.
