Volleyball roundup: Krum wins District 9-4A title

SANGER — Krum finished its dominating season with a three-set win over the Sanger Lady Indians on Tuesday, winning 27-25, 25-13, 25-13 to capture the District 9-4A title. The district title is Krum's first in school history.

Rhett Robinson led the Lady Bobcats with 22 kills, seven digs and six blocks. Defensively, Cali Marquis had a team-high six blocks.

The Lady Bobcats finished their regular season 9-1 in District 9-4A and 33-9 overall.

Aubrey d. Princeton

AUBREY — The Aubrey Lady Chaps finished off their regular season with a three-set victory over Princeton, 25-7, 25-23, 25-19.

Katherine Knight led Aubrey with 28 assists while also having seven digs. Kaia Saylor also had seven digs to go with her team-high 12 kills.     

Aubrey finished with a 7 -3 record in District 11-4A and 21-19 overall. Their bi-district playoff opponent is still to be announced. 

Callisburg d. Ponder

CALLISBURG — The Ponder Lady Lions did not end the regular season the way they'd hoped, as they fell to Callisburg 25-13, 25-20, 25-9. 

Ponder's effort was led by Averee Tipton's 21 assists and Bailey Frenette's 20 digs. Emily Hendrix added seven kills while Meagan Cope chipped in with five kills.

The Lady Lions finished third in District 9-3A and will head into the playoffs for only the second time. Last year, Ponder advanced to the region tournament.
