Liberty Christian's Reneau wins fourth TAPPS cross country state title

Elizabeth Reneau, a Liberty Christian senior who committed to Duke last week, has won her fourth cross country state title, finishing the two-mile race in 11 minutes, 19.6 seconds at the TAPPS 6A meet in Waco on Monday.

Between cross country and track, she has now won 11 individual state titles and one team title in her high school career. She won track state titles in the 800 meters, 1,600 and 3,200 last season, and entered that meet as the two-time defending champion in the one-mile and two-mile runs.

The Liberty girls finished in fifth place with a team score of 183.

The Liberty Christian boys finished third on Monday with a team score of 81. Senior Jordan Gledhill finished second in the 5-kilometer race with a time of 17:00.4.
