Basketball roundup: Aubrey gets 45-point win over Gainesville

AUBREY — The boys of Aubrey were in complete control over the Gainesville Leopards on Monday night, cruising to a 77-32 to victory. The Chaps used a dominant second half to strengthen their lead, outscoring the Leopards 41-15.

A number of Chaps contributed in the win, but Adrian Porter and Max Scott were the overall leaders with 15 points apiece. Hayden Smith pitched in with 13 points and Kaleb Wright had 10.

Aubrey will have one more game before Thanksgiving, traveling to play Bridgeport at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

KAUFMAN — The Argyle Eagles' first-half defense lifted them to a big win over Kaufman, holding the Lions to seven points and maintaining a strong 20-point lead.

Maxwell Valentino's game-high 15 points led the Eagle offense. Ben Collins and Luke Feely weren't far behind with 13 points apiece.

Argyle will head home Tuesday to host Kennedale at 1:30 p.m.

SANGER — The Sanger Indians were down for the first three quarters against Nevada Community before rallying in the fourth quarter. Sanger outscored Community 18-8 to take the win.

Sanger's Landon Ceballos was a big help in the tightly contested game with his game-high 19 points.

Sanger will sit tight at home on Tuesday and battle Whitesboro at 2:30 p.m.

Jay Wilson scored 18 points to lead three Ryan players who finished in double figures in a win over Decatur.

Trey Evans scored 16 points and DeAngelo Williams added 13 for Ryan, which jumped out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter and cruised the rest of the way.

The Raiders will take on Grapevine at noon Tuesday.

PONDER — A shootout for Ponder led to four Lions, including Rylan Waldo with a team-high 25 points, to reach double digits in a win over Fort Worth Calvary. 

The other three were Dean Akins with 14 points, Tye Schluter with 12 and Blake Gibson with 11.

Ponder will host Carrollton Ranchview at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

SANGER — The Sanger Lady Indians used a strong defensive second half to get back on their feet after losing three straight games, holding Whitesboro to eight points in those final two quarters. 

Sanger was led by Brooke Rollins, who had a game-high 17 points in the victory. Maci Turkoly chipped in with 13 points. 

The Lady Indians will host Nevada Community at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.
