Several Denton-area volleyball players were recognized by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, which has unveiled its all-state and all-star teams across all classifications.
Argyle senior Sophie Betzhold and sophomore Kassidy Reeves were named to the Class 4A all-state team alongside Krum senior and North Texas signee, Rhett Robinson. Betzhold and Reeves led Argyle to the state tournament while Robinson took her team to the regional final.
The TGCA also recognized the top juniors in the state with its annual All-Star team selections. Argyle junior Alyssa Wallace was named to the 1A-4A All-Star Red team. Guyer junior Rachel Tullos landed on the 5A-6A All-Star Red team. Tullos, an Arkansas State commit, was instrumental in lifting Guyer back to the postseason after a one-year absence.
The 1A-4A Red and Blue teams and 5A-6A Red and Blue teams will play against each other at the TGCA clinic this summer in Austin.
