Basketball roundup: Standifer sisters put up big numbers, Argyle stays hot

ARGYLE — Argyle's 28-point first quarter got the Lady Eagles off to a hot start on their way to defeating Keller 66-54 on Tuesday. 

Gabby Standifer (25) and younger sister Sydney (22) had outstanding shooting performances and continue to lead the Lady Eagles to success this young season.

Argyle will host Fort Worth Trimble Tech at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

PONDER  — The Ponder Lady Lions used their highest-scoring performance of the season to get past the Lindsay Lady Knights.

Kaia Williams led the Lady Lions' charge with a team-high 23 points, while Kylie Green (15 points) and Kelly Akins (13) also contributed in the victory,

SANGER — The Sanger Lady Indians kept the ball rolling with a win over Pottsboro.

Brooke Rollins' game-high 16 points led the Lady Indians. Maci Turkoly was right behind with 15.

Sanger will have the weekend off before hosting Muenster on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Ryan struggled to find an offensive rhythm in its loss to Frisco Reedy.

Kannessia Holbert led Ryan with 12 points. Latavia Jackson and Tina Burns had eight points apiece.

CORINTH — Lake Dallas' lockdown defense was the key to its victory over Grand Prairie. The Lady Falcons held Grand Prairie to under 10 points in each of the first three quarters.

Lake Dallas' Dorian Norris was the top scorer of the contest with 18 points. JoJo Elliott had 12 points.

Lake Dallas will host Fort Worth Southwest at 6 p.m. Friday.

PEASTER — The Krum Lady Bobcats outscored Peaster 15-2 in the third quarter to create the separation for the win.

The Lady Bobcats were led by Rhett Robinson's game-high 21 points.

Krum will  compete in the Princeton tournament starting Thursday.

WYLIE — The Braswell Bengals' defense held Wylie East to one point in the final quarter to grab a comeback win against the Raiders.

Brandon Barlow stood alone as the only Bengal to reach double figures in scoring with his game-high 18 points.

Braswell will be competing in the Anna tournament starting Thursday.
