Boys Basketball: Guyer alone at the top of TABC Class 6A rankings

The Guyer boys basketball team is the No. 1 team in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 6A rankings. The Wildcats (16-0) have never been the top team in any classification but now sit just ahead of Austin Westlake (15-2) in the updated rankings.

Cy Falls (12-2), San Antonio Wagner (10-2) and Spring Dekaney (14-2) round out the Top 5.

Guyer is coming off a 77-71 win over Waxahachie (No. 1 in Class 5A) to win the Cypress Hoops Tournament in Houston. That tournament also saw the Wildcats beat Westlake, 70-47. Jalen Wilson scored 17 points in that win over Westlake while De'Vion Harmon added 10 points.

Guyer hosts Rockwall at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Rounding out the Denton-area representatives in this week's TABC rankings are the Argyle boys (No. 7 in 4A) and Ponder (No. 9 in 3A). The Argyle girls, the three-time defending state champs, are No. 5 in 4A. Liberty Christian's girls are No. 7 in TAPPS.
