Basketball roundup: Guyer stays unbeaten, prepares to defend Whataburger tourney championship

ALLEN — Led by Jalen Wilson's 22 points, the Guyer Wildcats kept their undefeated season alive with a 82-75 win over the Allen Eagles in District 6-6A action Thursday.

Also knocking down big buckets for the Wildcats were De'vion Harmon (16 points), JaKobe Coles (15) and Le'tre Darthard (12).

Guyer (19-0, 2-0 district) will compete in the Whataburger Tournament as the defending champion of the event. It'll kick things off against Richardson Pearce at 6 p.m. Thursday at Saginaw Chisholm Trail.

CORINTH — The Lake Dallas Lady Falcons were outscored 35-24 in the second half as McKinney North rallied for a District 14-5A victory.

Lake Dallas (9-10, 2-1) led throughout the first three quarters and held a 33-29 lead heading to the fourth quarter when the Lady Bulldogs surged into the lead, outscoring the Lady Falcons 23-15 in the period.

Morgan Helixan led the scoring for Lake Dallas with 17, JoJo Elliott had 16 and Dorian Norris finished with 12.
