Basketball roundup: Aubrey rolls to 55-point win over McKinney Christian

AUBREY -- Aubrey wrapped up its pre-Christmas schedule in style Friday night, as six players scored in double figures and the Chaparrals rolled to a 102-47 victory over McKinney Christian.

The victory was never in doubt for the Chaparrals, now 14-3 for the season, as they built a 19-point first-quarter lead and held a 49-18 advantage at halftime.

Cade McCutcheon led the way for the Chaps with 21 points, Adrian Porter had 20, Christian Porter had 15, Hayden Smith added 14, Kaleb Wright had 11 and Jayden Hollis finished with 11.

The Chaparrals will return to play Thursday in the Bridgeport tournament.

AUBREY -- The Aubrey Lady Chaparrals used a change in defensive strategy and broke open a close game in the second half to knock off McKinney Christian.

The Lady Chaps held a 21-20 lead at intermission but switched to a pressuring defense and outscored McKinney Christian 37-18 in the second half to improve to 14-5.

Kathimae Dow led the scoring for Aubrey with 20 points, Gabi Grisso had 14 and Kaia Saylor finished with 12.

Aubrey will return to action Jan. 5 when it opens District 11-4A play at Celina.
