Basketball roundup: Sanger pulls away in overtime to top Bridgeport

SANGER — A neck-and-neck game finished with an impressive overtime performance from Sanger in its 57-50 win against Bridgeport. 

The Lady Indians held Bridgeport to four points in the extra period. Brooke Rollins had a huge showing, putting up a Sanger-high 19 points. Chloe Malone pitched in 12 points, and Maci Turkoly knocked in 10.

Sanger will play at Krum at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in more District 9-4A competition.

Ponder 70, Pilot Point 25

PILOT POINT — Ponder cruised in a dominating performance on the road. 

The game seemingly already was out of reach at halftime, when Ponder was up 45-12.

Nearly every Lady Lion got on the board in the win, and Kaia Williams had the team-high with 13 points. Chloe Poole was directly behind her with 12.

Pilot Point's next District 9-3A game is at 6p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Callisburg. Ponder will stay on the road and take on Pottsboro at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in more district action.

Aubrey's next district matchup is Tuesday evening against Princeton.

ARGYLE — Argyle remained undefeated in District 9-4A with the help of the dynamic scoring combo of Sydney Standifer and Rhyle McKinney.

Standifer led all scorers with 22 points, and McKinney chipped in with 15.

Argyle will look to stay hot in district action when it hosts Gainesville at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
