DALLAS — Three Guyer pitchers combined for a no-hitter in a nine-inning 2-1 nail-biter over the host Scots to open the Highland Park tournament, and then the Wildcats pounded out 15 hits in a 7-0 victory over Midland on Thursday.
Jacob Thompson, Dylan Parham and Michael King held Highland Park hitless in Guyer's win over the Scots. Thompson went the first seven innings, fanning six, before Parham and King pitched one inning apiece.
The Wildcats pushed across two runs in the top of the ninth to end the shutout. Guyer was limited to seven hits, with Jacob Thompson picking up two.
Against Midland, Guyer picked up two runs in the first, two in the third and three in the fifth while Cade Branum picked up the win, allowing four hits.
Morgan Allen and Daniel Thompson had three hits apiece for the Wildcats, and Jordan Beminio, Luke Piper and Reed Wilhoit had two hits.
Guyer ran its record to 8-2-1.

CROWLEY — The Denton Broncos picked up a pair of impressive victories on the opening day of the Crowley tournament, defeating Saginaw Chisholm Trail 10-2 before knocking off Crowley 7-2.
Jan Cabrera limited Chisholm Trail to five hits and got plenty of run support from the Broncos. Denton scored four runs in the second and two runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings. Cabrera got three of Denton's six hits, while Chris Gurley drove in two with a hit, Brooks Bedinger scored once and drove in one and Christian Henry had two RBIs and scored twice.
Denton trailed 2-0 after five innings against Crowley before scoring three times in the sixth and four in the seventh for the victory.
Bedinger and Mason Davis drove home two runs apiece, Gurley had an RBI single and Samson Hudson, Michael Henry and Gabe Aponte had hits.

MELISSA — The Argyle Eagles, now 9-0, got a pair of solid pitching performance and some offensive fireworks to score a 8-0 win over Crandall and a 6-3 decision over Saginaw in the Melissa tournament.
Sean Bolin tossed a three-hitter, struck out 10 and walked one while the Argyle offense pounded out nine hits against Crandall. Bryson Hudgens had two hits, drove in two and scored once, while Preston King and two hits and scored twice.
Argyle then had six extra-base hits in the victory over Saginaw while Cade Merka and Tate Van Poppel combined to toss a two-hitter.
Brenden Dixon, Alex Gonzalez and Bo Hogeboom had doubles, Preston King had a triple and Dillon Carter and Hudgens slammed home runs for Argyle.

LEWISVILLE - Lake Dallas got a pair of pitching gems combined with timely hitting and the end result was a 2-0 start in the Lewisville/Hebron tournament.
The Falcons defeated Wylie 1-0 and then capped the day with a 5-1 win over Lewisville.
Tyler Duffey held Wylie to one-hit over seven innings after the Falcons had given him a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Ryan Depperschmidt walked to open the inning, stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on Kyle York's fly ball.
Lake Dallas managed just three hits -- Depperschmidt, Ryan Hull and Jakob Machuca - in the game.
Against Lewisville, pitcher Mason Meeks was staked to a 3-0 second inning lead and he held the Farmers to three hits while striking out six. Depperschmidt had two hits, scored once and drove in one while York had two hits and two RBI and scored once. Meeks, Hull, Machuca, Logan Cowart and Sergio De Paoli all had one hit.

Tournament of Champions
FRISCO -- Liberty Christian's Joe Wolf, Brett Huff and Creighton Hansen combined to lead the Warriors to a pair of shutout wins Thursday in the Tournament of Champions, defeating Plano West 6-0 and Frisco Wakeland 3-0.
Wolf scattered five hits and struck out four in the complete-game victory over West and got offensive support, as the Warriors plated five runs in the third and finished with 10 hits.
Huff had two hits, including a triple, and drove in three runs, Kason Howell had two hits, drove in one and scored once and Creighton Hansen finished with three hits, drove in one and scored once.
Huff fanned six and Hansen struck out five and held Wakeland to five hits. Howell and Hayden Winter had RBI singles.

SHERMAN — The Sanger Indians snapped a 2-all tie with a four-run fourth inning and added three runs in the sixth to pull away for a 9-4 win over the Aubrey Chaparrals in the Grayson County Tournament.
Sanger had 11 hits, with Luke Pennington and Erik Ly each getting three hits and driving in three runs apiece, while Cade Hamilton added two hits.
Aubrey was limited to four hits, with Taylor Swarbrick getting three of those and driving in three with a double and home run.

HALTOM CITY — The Braswell Bengals, after suffering a 11-1 loss to San Antonio Southside, scored an 8-2 victory over Haltom in the Northwest Tournament.
The Bengals, riding the strong pitching of Brant Bennett, jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings against Haltom. Bennett went six innings, allowed five hits and struck out 10.
Drake Ayala led the offensive outburst for Braswell with three hits, scored twice and drove home one run. Chase Fields had two hits, and Alec Lawrence added a pair of hits, drove in two and scored once.
Southside jumped out to a 2-0 first-inning lead and cruised, holding the Bengals to four hits. Fields, Jordan Jones, Nathan Love and Jeremiah Gonzalez each had one hit for Braswell.

PILOT POINT — The Pilot Point Lady Bearcats pounded out a total of 26 hits in an 11-1 win over Denton and a 12-2 triumph over Ponder in the Pilot Point tournament.
The Lady Bearcats had 13 hits against Denton, with Maiah Malone collecting three while Skylar Simmel, Brooke Lane and Bailey Stewart had two hits each.
Christine Billmeier had three hits, including a home run, and drove home five runs in the victory over Ponder.
McKayla Pittman led Ponder with two hits.
Ponder later dropped a 7-5 decision to Sanger. Pittman and Presley Kelley had two hits each for the Lady Lions.
Aubrey picked up a pair of wins, blanking Denton 6-0 before edging Sanger 12-10.
Against the Lady Broncos, Laney Roos scattered five hits and fanned eight to pick up the win. The Lady Chaps collected 10 hits, with Hannah Howell getting two hits, including a homer, and Nia Bengtzen had two hits, drove in a run and scored one.
Against Sanger, the Lady Chaps trailed 10-8 after the third before rallying with four runs over the last three innings. Howell was the offensive leader for Aubrey with three hits, driving in four runs and scoring twice. Bengtzen had two hits, including a home run, and drove home two.

The Ryan Lady Raiders got a pair of strong pitching performances and picked up a 7-0 win over Wylie East and a 4-1 win over McKinney Boyd in makeup games from the Tina Minke Tournament rained out two weeks ago.
Against East, Brianna Leeds allowed just two hits and fanned six in five innings, while Abby Buettner had a pair of doubles, drove home three runs and scored once to lead the Lady Raider offense.
Ryan (14-3-1) jumped out to a 4-0 lead against Boyd while pitcher Brittanie Schneider and Leeds held Boyd to three hits. The Lady Raiders also had just three hits, but Buettner and Leeds drove in one run apiece and leadoff hitter Cecily Rodriguez had one hit and scored twice.
