CELINA — Two weeks after Celina traveled to Argyle and upended the state’s then-No. 1 team in dominant fashion, Friday night’s rematch in Celina started off eerily similar. But instead of the Lady Cats running out to the huge advantage, it was Argyle that went full throttle from the opening whistle to jump out to an 18-3 lead. And unlike that game two weeks ago, there was no late rally to make things interesting as the Lady Eagles kept their foot on the gas en route to a 56-28 win to take command of District 9-4A.
With district-leading Wichita Falls Rider heading into Friday’s matchup with an unblemished district record at 8-0, the Denton Broncos knew they had a tough task at hand.
