The Calvary Lions, behind the play of James Helzer, wrapped up a TAPPS state playoff berth on Monday with a 53-39 win over Texoma Christian. Helzer was dominate on both ends of the floor as he scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds and had three blocks to pace the Calvary (19-17) attack. Blake Nelson followed Helzer in scoring with 10 while Kieshun Cuchens and Brandon Eaton finished with seven each.

Blog: Argyle rolls past Gilmer, faces Celina for regional title

The Argyle Lady Eagles and Celina Lady Bobcats will meet for the third time this season at noon today in the finals of the Class 4A Region II tournament with a berth in the state tournament at stake. Argyle routed Gilmer 61-32 while Celina made easy work of Canton, 79-50, in the regional semifinals.
