Calvary takes second in tournament

The Denton Calvary Lions captured second place over the weekend at the Prince of Peace POPaPalooza Tournament in Garland.

On Saturday, Calvary won its first three matches in 2-0 fashion against Abilene Christian School Panthers (25-1 and 25-13), Austin Hill Country Christian School Knights (25-16 and 25-11), Poetry Community Christian School Pioneers (25-21 and 25-18).
In the championship match, the Lions faced the Parker-Tarrant Home School Sports Warriors.  Calvary jumped to a one set lead with a thrilling 32-30 victory, but then fell 23-25 and 21-25 to end the match.
