Football: Broncos cruise past Eagles

DALLAS — Junior running back Xavier Scott had only fumbled twice in his varsity career heading into the Broncos’ season-opening game at Wilmer-Hutchins on Friday. On Denton’s first offensive possession of the game, Scott fumbled to squander supreme field position away at the Eagles’ 20-yard line. But that didn’t deter Scott from refocusing and putting the team on his shoulders to the tune of 160 yards and three touchdowns as the Broncos took down Wilmer-Hutchins 28-14.

Football: Early stumble

Guyer’s early mistakes and the machine otherwise known as Allen football were too much for the Wildcats to overcome on Friday night as they dropped their season opener in a historic game on the Texas high school football landscape.
