The Denton Bronco swim team, led by junior DJ Lang and freshman Elise Page, captured 11 first-place finishes in a four-way meet with Ryan, Guyer and Frisco Wakeland on Tuesday night at the Frisco ISD natatorium.
Lang and Page each captured four wins to lead the Broncos.
Lang won the boys 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.69 and the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.23. Lang was joined by Anthony Milbitz, Cody Knapp and Kevin Ye to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:44.09. The same foursome won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:32.76.
Page dominated the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:02.28 — 13 seconds better than the second-place finisher. She won the 100 butterfly with a 1:05.94 while Guyer’s Brook Scherer finished second in 1:09.66.
Bri Broussard, Rachael Crews and Kayla McGill teamed with Page to win the 200 medley relay in a time of 2:00.70. Crews, McGill, Page and Rosalee Bayer combined to win the 200 freestyle relay with a 1:49.39.
Broussard won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.34, just ahead of second-place Mandi Sutherland of Ryan at 1:09.27. Broussard finished second in the 200 individual medley with a 2:28.15. Crews (1:16.00) got a five-second victory in the 100 breaststroke.
Guyer’s Christina Coon grabbed two first-place finishes, winning the 50 freestyle in 25.96 as well as the 100 freestyle. Ryan’s Savannah Seals finished second and Bayer was third.
Milbitz won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:05.83, while Ryan’s Aaron Lawrence took second. Lawrence also was second in the 100 freestyle.
In the girls 1-meter diving, Guyer took the two top spots while Ryan and Denton rounded out the top five. Guyer’s Blythe Fentress won the event with 166.65 points and Brandi Ruvang was second with 119.65. They were followed by Ryan’s Olivia Thomas and Denton’s Jessalie Hunter and Brittany Cotton.
