Guyer sophomore quarterback Shawn Robinson picked up his second collegiate offer a month before he starts his first game for the Wildcats.

The Saginaw Chisholm Trail transfer was offered by Texas on Monday afternoon. Robinson was also offered by Nebraska earlier this summer.

Robinson joined the Wildcats this spring after his mother, Andrea Robinson, left Cedar Hill to become the Guyer girls basketball coach. Robinson started at Chisholm Trail last year and threw for 1,123 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also racked up 624 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

The quarterback Robinson is replacing, former Guyer standout Jerrod Heard, is entering his freshman year with the Longhorns.

Robinson is expected to be the starting quarterback when the Wildcats open the season on Aug. 29 against Allen at Apogee Stadium.
