Guyer's junior varsity Black team had little trouble dismantling Northwest 28-3 in its district opener behind the three-touchdown performance from Kyle Walsh on Thursday night.
Walsh scored on runs of 36, 57 and 1 yards.
Conner McCown added a 6-yard touchdown run while Brad Grems added three extra points.
Walsh finished with 110 yards on the ground on only six carries and was 3-of-5 passing for 74 yards. Richard Whitaker had 75 yards rushing on 15 carries for the Wildcats while Reid Battles had two receptions for 63 yards.
On defense, McCown had five solo tackles and seven assists while Demontria Taylor had three solo stops, six assists and made two tackles for losses.
Ryan JV Red 20, Lake Dallas 0
Ryan improved to 2-1 with a big win against Lake Dallas.
Offensively, quarterback Cole Carpenter who was 5-of-11 passing for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Jesse Rojas had 100 yards rushing on 15 carries and a touchdown.
Sean Lusk and Austin Garon also scored touchdowns for the Raiders. The defense was led by Bradley Duggan and Rojas with nine tackles each while Jordan Lamb had a sack.
Also, Christian Valenzuela and Jose Benitez had six tackles each.
Ryan freshman Blue 43, Lake Dallas 27
Shamari Cann scored three rushing touchdowns and Markus Jackson had two in helping lead Ryan to a win over Lake Dallas.
The Raiders (4-1) also got a safety from Noah Taylor and Maurice Gordan and a rushing touchdown from Mark Williams.
Luis Estrada contributed six extra points.
Ryan, too, got productive blocking from six linemen and tight ends, including Triston Brown, Jacob Fuess, Anthony Young, Garrison Greenhaw, Dakota Laws, Jacob McSpadden, Derek Templeton, Jacob Kiser and Jeremy Beason.
Defensively, Templeton recovered a fumble, while Tristan Greer, Mark Williams, Peyton Cushman and Kiser all had sacks. Taylor blocked a punt.
